Ø 100 million tonnes end up in the environment every year and 8 million tonnes end up in the oceans every year
Ø The 7th continent: over 300 million tonnes of waste in the oceans forming a continent with areas of accumulation. In the North Pacific, there is an area covering 3 million km2 (6 times the size of France).
Ø Plastic particles can be found at depths of up to 30m, impacting all forms of marine life: fish, algae and coral.
